introducing little miss poppy!

i am so, so excited and proud to present to you little miss poppy! this is the big secret i have been keeping from you. by now, i feel like she might as well be my third child with as much as i have anticipated her, labored over her and all the sleep she has deprived me of, but it’s an idea i’ve been dreaming up for awhile and i hope you will love it as much as i do.

Little Miss Poppy is a whimsical line of floral hair accessories brought to you by Melissa Darst Photography.

Prepare to fall in love with our vibrant flowers, hand-picked just for you. A stylish acccent for both children and adults, our pieces are thoughtfully arranged to bring the perfect pop to any look. So how did this come to be?! Well, it is a reflection of my love of accessories and of my personal style when dressing my very own little poppy-wearing girl (second girl, below). plus, the one thing I always carry around in my camera bag besides equipment are Flowers! They are magic! as i said earlier, their bursts of color and texture are the details that add a picture-perfect pop to my images and your outfits! Photos are all about the subjects, but the wardrobe can be the finishing touch that will take your portrait to another level. That’s why I place so much emphasis on wardrobe selection with my clients. It’s why I founded Little Miss Poppy and why i hope it will be a fabulous new service i can extend to my clients, other photographers as well as fellow accessory lovers. the truth is, i wear all these flowers too! these can work for both children or adults…and they don’t have to stop in the hair! try them on a dress, cardigan, necklace, hat, bag, scarf – the possibilities are endless!!!
