miss m’s rapunzel birthday party at let’s pretend tea parties

true confession: this is the first time ever that i have not done a birthday party at my house. yes, it was nice to actually hang with my family the night before rather than be up all night cooking or decorating or cleaning BUT oh how i felt empty and like a part of me was missing. i thrive on this kind of stuff and we have shaped our kids to live for their shining moment each year and for the shutterfly birthday party book they get to flip through all year long to relive the memories, and somehow handing this over to someone else just felt wrong. did miss m know any differently? no, and that’s really all that matters….but i learned myself a good lesson – choosing the easy way is not always the best way:) gonna move on, but it’s the truth!!

so this year our sassy miss m, who loves all things dress up and literally thinks she is rapunzel (or did at the time of party planning – now we’re fascinated with dolphins), proclaimed she wanted a “tangled” birthday party. we found the perfect place to bring this to life at let’s pretend in downtown grapevine. the kiddos got to unleash their wild imaginations and princess adorations among the racks and trunks of dress-up clothes, tiaras, hats, crowns, wands and shoes. they feasted on chocolate soup, marshmallow-fruit kabobs, jelly sprinkle sandwiches, rapunzel cupcakes and more crazy amounts of sugar. they were glittered in make up and paraded main street to show off their creations. and as you’ll see below, we even found a way to pull in some dolphin love for the birthday girl:) it was a wonderful time!

can’t wait to share more photos and behind the scenes from her official 4 year birthday shoot – stay tuned!
