what an amazing subject, right? i had my camera in one hand and a pile of food in the other, and i had no idea what sort of images i was capturing at the time. i had no fear and was tunnel-visioned on trying to take some great shots for my baby girl and make sure the big guy didn’t get away! i was a mom on a mission, and i literally climbed up through the sunroof of my suv and onto the top of my car and squeaked a giant toy giraffe below for about 15 minutes to lure this guy over to me. i was throwing food but that didn’t matter – what mattered was that teething toy sophie worked and so hopefully the long line of traffic my husband and i held up at fossil rim didn’t mind:) afterall, this very moment was the whole reason we drove 2 hours and i was not going to just come to grips with the fact that the giraffes found the shade and its leaves more pleasant than what we had to offer. my miss m is obsessed with giraffes, which she has affectionately named “raffi’s,” and so she was our inspiration for the trip. i love these shots and our family adventure….
