back in november, i had a wonderful opportunity to go and photograph an event in south texas that supported the american cancer society. in the holiday rush, i haven’t been able to blog it but it’s on my list to roll out in january. just wait – its overflowing with all sorts of inspiration and creativity!!!
the event is called dining by design and it involves volunteer designers that showcase a variety of themed tablescapes as part of a daytime luncheon and evening of fine dining. the entire event brings in over $40,000! my mom has been involved with dbd since 2006 and designs a table each year, plus she is a breast cancer survivor, so this is a cause near and dear to her. she throws herself into her table and this was the first year i actually got to attend it! i knew that i wanted to *try* and suprise her this christmas with a submission of her table to one of her favorite blogs, celebrations at home. call me a proud daughter, but i love my mom tremendously and i think she is super talented and i wanted to show her off and try and surprise her one day with seeing her photos on one of her favorite blogs!
i was thrilled when christina from celebrations at home wrote me back instantly with an interest in featuring this event! i just had to share in the spirit of christmas and surprises to those we love. and as you’ll see, the event was a christmas cupcakes and cocktails (now you see where the insipration for our december studio event came from!). i can’t wait to share more images from both dbd and the studio event, but this will give you a great sneak peek. click here for full post.
