my meme turned 80 this past weekend and i was thrilled to get to make the big surprise party! my hubby took on role of mr.mom so that i could fly down to south texas (12 hour drive from here - might as well be another state!). it was a nice getaway and i even squeezed in a nap, plenty of eating, a little shopping and the time to actually get to shower, blowdry and style my hair without kids at my heels! ha.
luckily my dad has a photography hobby so i borrowed his camera to have a little fun capturing all the details of the big day. my mama gets all the credit for the decor and the food was a team effort! don’t forget MDP for your next anniversary or birthday celebrations – this stuff is worth remembering:)
oh, and another fun idea is that i wrote my meme a letter of 80 memories i had of her/things i loved about her – i think it was as much fun for me to reflect on as it was for her to open!!! it made me realize how impressionable kids really are because i was surprising myself with the random details and events that flooded into my head from such an early age!
