maternity photos – baby centipede at 30 weeks

so much for sleep tonight. it’s late (or rather wee early in the morning), i’m 5 days out until my scheduled c-section and i just can’t sleep. i’ve nearly lost faith this baby will come early as i had hoped (and was convinced since i trended that way with mr. d and miss m!!).  i want it to be healthy but i am ready on my end:)

i’ve been going through all sorts of photos that i haven’t gotten around to editing and posting and decided to share a bit of the maternity session i had done for baby centipede. this was many, many weeks ago – i can assure you my belly has doubled in size! – but i’m just now finding time to wrap up editing them. my friend kelly of inspired by you photography was kind enough to take on my family and capture my belly at this sweet stage for me. didn’t she do a great job?! i love what she got and we had so much fun working together! thanks for all your hard work and patience kelly!!

so what to do with belly shots now that you have them? if you’re like me, i fall into the category of one of those people that knows they’re never gonna want to hang a large portrait of my belly above my fire place:) i’m not afraid to say that even though i’m a photographer and i like to sell wall portraits. so many people know they should capture this time in their lives but then they don’t know what they’ll do with them, so they talk themselves out of a session. sure, i put some loose photos in the belly and baby books, but an album is also a great way to store the memories of your session all in one place that can be tucked away and brought out for display as necessary. i am also playing around with a 3×3 mini-accordion album below, which i think is turning out super cute and would make for a fun grandparent gift or additional momento for baby keepsake and nursery! all this said, don’t talk yourself out of a maternity shoot – they are more than worth it….

ok now, get ready for some gorgeous lighting!! i love how kelly captured this time of day and i can’t believe my kids actually cooperated. this was so last minute and i had no expectations, so go figure. love knowing that my miss m is singing “you are my sunshine” here to baby centipede as the sun is literally setting behind us.

love the watchful eye and protective grip of mr. d, who i know will continue to be the sweetest and most loving big brother…

Stamped - You are a radiant vision of light as always. Love you!!

misti - I have tears in my eyes! Those are fantastic. You are so beautiful!
